A few weeks ago I visited Lisbon for the first time. I immediately fell in love with the small side streets and the possibility to wander aimlessly and always discover something new.

The combination of small hidden squares, colourful tiles, sunlight and shadows creates great unique sceneries. The topography of Lisbon also challenged me to emphasise verticality more than I usually would.
Verticality

Specialty coffee in Lisbon
I also took the time to visit some specialty coffee shops, mainly focusing on local roasters. This approach gets me not just good coffee, but also tends to lead me into areas and streets I might have not visited otherwise.

Some of my highlights include:
Fábrica Coffee Roasters
They have a few locations in Lisbon and when I asked to try a specific filter they even opened a new bag so I could try it, definitely recommended to visit when passing by.
FiltrĂ´ – Creative Lab
Very nice and knowledgable owner. We talked a lot about different coffees, I had an amazing filter coffee and even got some beans for home.
The Folks
They have a few locations and a nice selection of different coffees and beans.
Dong Coffee
Also a roaster, very nice staff and the owner is also very knowledgable, with a big selection of different beans to try and take home.
Animals

One highlight of the trip were the animals, especially the peacocks inhabiting some of the parks. I also befriended a dog gang that allowed me to join them on their strolls around the side streets.
Trams

The trams of Lisbon are probably the first thing you notice. When capturing them I challenged myself to find more unusual perspectives.

Whenever possible I also visit more unusual places, in this case a cemetery. One detail I only noticed rather late where the colourful windows of the small buildings, allowing for some amazing picture opportunities.
